Mediates production of the second messenger molecules diacylglycerol (DAG) and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3). This protein contains TIM barrel (catalytic) domain, C2 domain, PH domain (1mai), and two EF-hand domains. This structure represents monomer. In crystal, the protein forms a loosely packed dimer with a continuous planar nonpolar surface coming from the monomers. Thus, the dimer might actually exist in the membrane-associated state, even though it was identified as unstable by PQS.
