Experimental Verification for 1jia » Snake phospholipase A2, group II, B
Obtained orientation is in agreement with mutagenesis and binding study of a homologous phosholipase (Wijewickrama et al. 2006). Residues interacting with the membrane acyl chain region are V20, F24, A119, P121, and I124, according to the calculations. Residues important for membrane binding are Y120, P121, I124, and L125 (others were not tested; Y120 and L125 occupy the interfacial region in the calculated position) (Wijewickrama et al. 2006). Structures of membrane-associated loops in these homologous proteins may differ.
