Detected membrane-interaction site is also involved in protein-protein binding: see complex with acetylcholine receptor, 2br8 (A10L substitution in conotoxin).

Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them.
