Experimental Verification for 1ptr » C1 domain of protein kinase C delta
Residues that are buried in the membrane hydrophobic core are M239, S240, P241, F243, L250, W252, G253, L254 and V255. This is consistent with the important role of L250, W252 and L254 in protein-lipid interactions (Wang et al. 2001).

Comments on 1ptr » C1 domain of protein kinase C delta
Protein kinase C delta is calcium-independent, phospholipid-dependent, serine- and threonine-specific enzyme. PKC also serves as the receptor for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters (13-acetylphorbol in the PDB structure).
